Dweezil Zappa

Apparently he was in Pretty In Pink as well... as Simon.

Birth name: Ian Donald Calvin Euclid Zappa

Son of Frank Zappa

Brother of Moon Unit Zappa and Ahmet Zappa

Cousin of Lala Sloatman

Attended Walter Reed Jr. High in North Hollywood, CA.

Was always called Dweezil by his family, but wasn't registered as such on his birth certificate; the hospital where he'd been born refused to record the unusual name, so father Frank gave him the names of his bandmates. When Dweezil found out about this as a boy, he wanted to make the name official - so his parents took him to legally change it.

Pretty In Pink

I just found out today that The Psychodelic Furs do the intro song Pretty In Pink for that movie... but they recorded that song way back in like '81.

I also think that Molly Ringwald's character, Andie, has the worst "costumes" ever. I mean, that dress in the end was so freaking ugly. Who designed them anyways? And throughout the whole movie, it's just gah! And I don't even have style and I can see this.

I think the coolest character is Iona, the music shop owner/friend. And I feel sorry for her dress.

And Blane is a horrible name. It seems that everyone there had messed up names. I mean... Steff the rich guy... Bennie his girlfriend(?)/girl who hates Andie...

Apparently Marilyn Vance was the costume designer... and she was costume designer for Xanadu... that explains it.

School supplies seem to get more and more expensive as the years pass... or perhaps it's because there's 2 of us now. I dunno.

I saw a quart bottle of rubber cement. It was calling my name. I'm going to go back before moving out and I'm buying that shit. Oh yeah. Ah, the things that can be done with rubber cement. I heart rubber cement. I do. And in the long run it's way more economical to buy that quart than little 4 oz. bottles.

Damn.
That's how those big wholesale places suck you in. Grr... [shaking fist]
But oh the sight of a pack of 16 pens or sharpies for like 10 bucks. Le sigh...

Stupid ebay thing... grrr.... Finally was able to list 6 books out for sale.... and I still have a few more I need to find to sell. Le sigh... and Then I went on Amazon and went crazy picking books and music and then realizing that I couldn't buy all those things at once... and I had to cut back. That's the worst. Worst I tell you.

Drum set, yey!

5th book down...

and 2 more to go.

And I just realized that i only have 3 more weeks left on non-schooldom. Le sigh... Where does August always go every summer? It's like he can't wait to come 'round each year and is gone before you realize it.

Construction Work...

eek.... oh man i'm tired and my right palm is getting all blistered... ouchy.

we're putting tile in our house and my dad left for like an hour, and my brother and i had to do it before the cement dried up
and i did all the hard labour... putting the cememnt on the tile and putting cement on the floor and makings sure it was all about the right level
all eh did was put the tile down and wiggle it a bit

and because of the wooden handle on the thing i had to use, my hand got all red and junk...
and the tile was heavy, so after holding around 28 of those things on my left arm as i put the cement on it with my right hand, my left arm feels all noodly

This is somehow very interesting:

ICE T – Perhaps the best selling song ever done in an 80s hardcore style was "Cop Killer" by rapper Ice T's 90s novelty act, Bodycount, an all Black thrash band. The guitarist for the band, Mooseman, later collaborated with Iggy Pop. He was killed in a drive-by shooting in 2001. (JA)
